Lucy Liu was born in the US. Liu is an American actress, a singer as well as a voice actress. Beautiful, intelligent and talented actress, she's a great model for Asian actors who want to make it big in Hollywood. After a series of initial performances in popular shows she gained fame when she joined the crew of the cult comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the villainous Ling Woo. She translated her unexpected fame into major screen roles in films like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Then she gave a stunning performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii In the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time her role as a leading lady in flops of the box office like Rise: Blood Hunter were as well-known. Later, she became an actor in voice for animated films including Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's character in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen production, didn't bring about the positive results. Southland is a critically-acclaimed series of police dramas which had Liu playing recurring roles, helped her reestablish her status as a performer.
